A major draw at Lake Lurleen State Park is, of course, the 250-acre lake. The fishing experience here is likely to be a peaceful one, since swimming is allowed only in restricted areas and skiing and personal watercraft use are prohibited. The park offers boat rentals, and you can even pick up a fishing license at the entrance station before trying your luck at catching bass, crappie, bream and catfish. For night owls, bank fishing is allowed on parts of the lake's south side after 9 p.m.
